CP = (TC/TT) x 100
where,
- CP is the completion percentage
- TC is the total task completed
- TT is the total tasks of the project
How to Calculate the Task Completion Percentage?
Step 1 - First determine the total number of tasks in the project. For example, suppose you got an assignment from the school. In the assignment, you have to write essays on 8 different topics. So, the total number of tasks will be 8.
Step 2 - After that, determine how much of the tasks are completed by you. For example, if you have written 1 essays. Then, your task completed number will be 1.
Step 3 - Now, use the above formula to calculate the completion percentage. In this case, the completion percentage will be: (1/8) x 100 = 12.5%
Thus, your task completion percentage is 12.5%.
Solved Example
Example: Mr. Twain is workaholic person. He like to complete his every task before the deadline. He recently got a new project from his office in which he had to develop 12 new components for his client website in three weeks. He has developed 7 components in the first week itself. Calculate the completion percentage of the Mr. Twain.
Total Tasks (TT) = 12 tasks
Tasks Completed (TC) = 7 tasks
Using the formula, CP = (TC/TT) x 100, we'll get:
CP = (7/12) x 100 = 58.33%
Thus, Mr. Twain has completed 58.33% of his work and 41.67% of the tasks are yet to be done.
